Face Yoga: Depuffing Eyes With Kernel Oil By Tracy Assaad

Every day, you see the benefits of regular exercise and healthy eating. Friends on Instagram post the before and after gym pictures of their bodies. However, you don’t see anyone posting a picture of a face yoga workout, even though it is as important as any other workout. Find out how facial yoga can help keep you looking young and many other benefits!

What is face yoga?

Face yoga is a fancier way of saying face exercises. This type of yoga does not involve a yoga mat and incense burning, instead it involves massages and exercises targetting your facial muscles. This specific type of yoga has become more popular and taken seriously in the last few years. It comprises of making ‘funny’ faces at yourself in a mirror to strengthen your muscles. People practicing face yoga have reported a noticeable improvement in their appearance and a younger look.

Why do face yoga?

We’re going to ask you a few questions, and if you answer yes to any (or all), face yoga is for you.

  • Do you want a younger-looking face?
  • Do you want to lift your skin?
  • Do you want to get rid of eye bags or lift your eyes?
  • Do you want to smooth fine lines and wrinkles?
  • Do you want better blood circulation in your face?

We know you answered ‘yes’ to at least one question, so let’s dive into the benefits of face yoga! Firstly, it doesn’t require needles or botox to work. It’s perfectly natural and relies on natural methods. It is also natural to develop wrinkles as you grow older. The more smiling or frowning, the more wrinkles you get; however, wrinkles are not synonyms of ugly or permanent. Face yoga helps you achieve a younger look by hitting the snooze button on your biological clock. It keeps your skin youthful for a longer time. The exercises tone and tighten your facial muscles, and by doing so, they lift your skin, define your cheekbones, and get rid of double chins!

Finally, what happens when we look good? We feel good. Achieving a more structured look will boost your confidence and release some of the stress that comes from looking at ourselves in the mirror every morning and finding new wrinkles.

When to do face yoga and how often?

Wherever, whenever! Since face yoga does not need any equipment except the occasional serum or cream, you can exercise whenever you want. For the best results, it is recommended to exercise during your morning or evening skincare routine. The increased blood flow to the face during those times helps energize your muscles and get better results.

The takeaway

There’s no foolproof guide to aging gracefully. Face yoga should not be your only hope of rejuvenating your skin. Keep doing that skincare routine and applying sunscreen because they are as important as exercising your facial muscles.

Depuff & lift the eyes with Tracy Assaad

Before we let you go, Health Coach Tracy Assaad will teach you 2 easy exercises to add to your morning or evening skincare routine to depuff and lift your eyes. She is using Kernel Organics Eye Serum that you can order from Mint Basil Market.

We will be breaking down the steps here, or you can watch the video above for extra help.

Start with exercise #1: pour 2 to 3 drops of serum into the palm of your hand. Tap lightly with your index finger and draw 3 small circles around your eyes in a clockwise motion. Then, draw 3 small circles in a counterclockwise motion. Repeat the exercise by drawing big circles. And done!

Let’s move to exercise #2. Before we start, beware that the skin on your eyes is 10x more sensitive than the rest of your skin, so be gentle and don’t pull hard. For exercise #2, apply serum over your fingers. Start from the corner of your eyes, go up to the temples, circle down to the corner, up to the temple again, and finally down to the sternum. Repeat this motion 3 times.

These two exercises combined with your daily skincare will depuff and lift your eyes!
