We know that keeping a healthy and balanced lifestyle can be a challenge during Ramadan. However, fasting can be a great way to take a step back and focus on the present and what your body really needs. To help keep you on the right track, here are some tips and helpful recipes to keep in mind as you gear up for this month of reflection and self-care.
1. Hydrate: Always drink 2 Glasses of Water before going to bed2. Set an Intention and Write What you Are Grateful For: I usually do this in my journal as way to reflect on the day before and prepare for the day ahead. Focusing on an intention (I usually focus on the words patience and perseverance), and reminding myself of all that I’m grateful for keeps me grounded and focused throughout the day.
3. Nutrient Dense Meals for Suhoor: For Those who wake-up for Suhoor, make sure to balance of protein, healthy fats and carbs to keep you feeling satiated throughout the day. Here are some recipes to get you on the right track.

5. Hydrate Again: Break your fast by drinking a full glass of water at room temperature. To rev up your metabolism and give your stomach a chance to warm up, consider adding apple cider vinegar and a slice of lemon to your water.
