What’s crispy on the outside, creamy on the inside, healthy inside and out while extremely delicious? Mira Hoss’s Tahini Chocolate Chunk Cookies, of course! These tahini chocolate chunk cookies are everything you’d want in a cookie PLUS the nutty flavor of tahini. 

Health Coach Mira Hoss loves cookies, but when following a healthy diet, healthy cookie alternatives are hard to find. So she decided to re-create them with a twist. “I have it whenever my sweet tooth kicks in and I feel like I need a chocolate snack to satisfy my cravings.” She ended up changing a few ingredients and adding tahini, as tahini has several health benefits, and she personally likes the aftertaste. 

Mira’s recipe of Tahini Choco Chunk Cookies fits almost everyone’s diet because it is gluten-free, dairy-free, and refined sugar-free. This recipe is as tasty as it is easy. It requires two bowls and no food processor! Sometimes we’re just in the mood for a cookie, you know, and no one has time for a complicated recipe (or one that requires cleaning up a food processor). It is perfect for socially distanced picnics, beach days, or barbeques with friends. You can pack it up into Tupperware and be on your way without a worry in the world. Everyone will love it. 

Tahini Choco Chunk Cookies are made with clean ingredients that are easy to digest and are very filling. These Tahini Cookies are completely guilt-free and super nutritious. No gluten means no bloating. The recipe contains good fat that makes you feel full for a longer time. They are found in tahini and almond flour. Tahini is rich in antioxidants, full of healthy fats, vitamins, and minerals, anti-inflammatory, promotes bone health, and many more benefits.

Mira prefers chocolate chunks to choco chips because choco chips are made of what’s called baking-resistant chocolate, which is designed to hold their shape once baked. Choco chunks are bigger and melt into the cookie. Have no care about what they will look like, but they will taste amazing. You can make your own chunks by chopping down a chocolate bar or buying them.

You will need:

  • Two bowls
  • Baking tray
  • Parchment paper
  • Spoon

DRY INGREDIENTS

  • 1 & 1/4 cup oat flour
  • 3/4 cup almond flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp pink Himalayan salt
  • 2 scoops collagen peptides - Collagen is optional. If not available, replace with 2 tbsp. of oat flour.

WET INGREDIENTS

  • 1/2 cup tahini
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla essence
  • Top with chocolate chunks

DIRECTIONS

This recipe is so easy to make, so let’s get started!

  • Step 1

Grab one bowl and mix all the dry ingredients together.

  • Step 2

Grab the other bowl and mix all the wet ingredients.

  • Step 3

Now, combine the dry and wet ingredients into one bowl and mix well. Top with chocolate chunks.

  • Step 4

Line your baking tray with parchment paper and start placing your cookies using a spoon.

  • Step 5

Bake for around 12-15 min at 180°C.
