UTENSILS
You will need:
- 1 large tray
- 1 bowl
You can find most of the ingredients listed below on Mint Basil Market.
INGREDIENTS
- 10 Khudri dates
- 1/4 cup raw cocoa powder
- 3 flat tbsp almond butter
Deep roasted almond butter is delicious with this recipe, but that’s a personal choice.
- 2 tbsp raw honey
- 3/4 cup oat flour
It’s not recommended to make your own oat flour by blending the oats because you need the flour to be very fine and powdery, which is tricky to make with a home food processor.
- 4 to 5 splashes of milk by using the tablespoon (not a measuring one)
- Chocolate chips or crushed plain biscuits, to use for decoration.
DIRECTIONS
This dessert is so quick and easy to make! Follow the instructions, step by step, in order to get a SUPER silky texture.
Step 1
Start by soaking the dates in hot clean water for 5 minutes, then draining the water excess by pressing each date with your hands.
Step 2
Prepare your food processor, and start adding gradually your ingredients starting with the dates, raw cocoa powder, almond butter, raw honey, oat flour, and milk.
Step 3
Blend until you get a silky smooth dough. It shouldn't take more than one min. Once your dough forms, stop the machine.
Step 4
Taste and adjust! If you want to make your mix more chocolaty, add 1 tsp of cocoa, but not more in order to keep the silkiness, then blend.
If it feels too dry, add one splash of milk, and then blend.
Step 5
Roll into medium-sized balls and line them on parchment paper in a flat tray.
Step 6
When done rolling, freeze for 10 minutes. During that time, prepare your decorative toppings.
Step 7
Remove the balls out of the freezer and roll them in the toppings. Refrigerate for 2-3 hours.
